what can a divemaster do?
The Divemaster rating is the first professional certification which allows you to work in the dive industry able to organise, conduct and supervise recreational diving and snorkelling activities.
As a Divemaster you can conduct the PADI reactivate program, which is designed for certified divers who have not dived in a while, bringing their dive skills to a comfort level of being able to participate in diving activities in the Openwater.
A Divemaster, who is also a DSD leader, is able to conduct the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program in confined water.
A Divemaster can conduct the Discover Local Diving program for certified divers as well as the Skin Diver and Discover Snorkelling program.
A Divemaster can assist a PADI Instructor in virtually all courses to increase maximum ratios or if training is conducted in challenging conditions.
what can't a divemaster do?
A Divemaster is not qualified to teach recreational dive courses. This level of training is restricted to PADI Openwater Scuba Instructors which is the next level of training after the Divemaster rating is achieved.
The PADI IDC, as it is known, stands for PADI Instructor Development Course and is a program conducted by a PADI Course Director.
